How to patch a small hole

So your kids decided to use your Living room Drapes as a Jungle Gym, at least that's what mine did and now i have some small screw holes to patch.  While this isn't a HUGE issue in the grand scope of things, it is one of those household projects that you can do correctly or incorrectly.  Lets make patching small holes easy shall we?  First, go get a small container of Spackle Paste, or follow the link below to order one.  The great thing about the paste is that it will last for years, even after it has dried out you can re-hydrate it by adding about a Tablespoon of water and mixing it together for about 3-5 minutes.

The other two items you will need are a small putty knife and a wet paper towel or sponge.

Step #1, brush off any loose drywall and debris from the hole(s).

Step #2, using the putty knife, fill the holes with spackle and the area immediately around it, you don't need much and it doesn't have to look pretty.

Step #3, with the wet paper towel, wipe off the excess spackle, this will prevent it from standing out after painting by making the holes flush to the surrounding areas.

Step #4, Let it dry and it another coat is needed because of sink-age, just repeat steps 2 & 3.

Step #5, paint and your done!

While i can't help you keep your kids from destroying your house like savage monsters, i hope this will help you fix the wreckage your little Godzillas leave in their aftermath.
